Hrathen came to the city Kae to convert the kingdon to his religion of Shu-Dereth, which just might mean the destruction of Arelon. Now considered a widow the new princess of Arelon struggles to take apart the tyranny that has emerged in the dustruction of Elantris. Sarene comes to her new city of Kae, Capital of Arelon, crouching beneath the great city of Elantris, just to find her soon-to-be husband had been announced dead.
The Disease quickly spread through out the whole city turning the magical demigods into powerless and fragile beings, Elantris itself decaying and falling apart, to be a place of filth and distruction. Elantris was a radiant city teeming with the most benovolent of people, but that all changed when the Shaod struck.
